Description: Media, Learning and Social change examines theories
in learning psychology as they are applied in
the emerging media and technology applications
in classroom and non-classroom settings. Learning
psychology has advanced significantly over the
past ten years and the nexus of psychology, learning
and media form a perfect storm for progress in
personal growth and development. This session will examine new knowledge
in learning, media studies and implications for global education.

Ph.D.
About the Facilitator: Dr. Bernie Luskin is Executive Vice President,
Director of the Media Psychology Program and
professor of education and psychology specializing
in learning theory and social change, at Fielding
Graduate University. He was founding president
of Coastline Community College, and founding
chancellor of Jones International University.
He served on the Web Commission and staff of the U. S.
Senate. In corporate life, he has been CEO/president
of Philips Interactive Media. Philips Media Education
and Reference Publishing and was president and
CEO of Jones Education Networks, including Mind
Extension University and Knowledge TV. He pioneered
telecourses and distance learning, producing
the model for online courses presently used in
distance learning which served as the basis for
legislation enabling state funds to be used for
non-classroom based instruction in California.
Luskin earned a doctorate from UCLA where he
was a Kellogg and University Fellow and received
lifetime achievement awards from UCLA, the Irish Government and the European
Union. He received two Emmys from the Academy
of Television Arts and Sciences.
